Description
Enjoy this epic vegan-friendly breakfast superfood smoothie. The perfect nutrient-dense way to start your day!
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (or if you want it more like a frozen thick shake, use frozen bananas)
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- ½ cup / 65g raw cashews
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder (preferably raw)
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 2 tablespoons protein powder*
- ½ cup / 65g frozen or fresh blueberries
- 2½ cups / 625ml liquid of choice*
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until you reach a smooth consistency.
- Enjoy straight away, or refrigerate for later.
Notes
Protein powders: We use either a plain raw, bio-fermented brown rice protein or a chocolate flavoured complete protein powder – if we use this one, we don’t add the cacao powder as it already has the chocolate flavour.
Liquid: This can vary depending on what you have in your fridge. We sometimes use coconut water, plant-based milks, or just water (or a combination).
Have a sweet tooth? Add 2 Medjool dates or a couple of tablespoons of maple syrup.
Nuts: You can swap the cashews for any other nut of choice, or for a nut-free option, leave them out.
This smoothie will thicken as it sits, so if you want to consume it later, add more liquid.
