3 Vegan Christmas Menus (+ Drinks, Treats & Shopping Lists)
Christmas menu planning has this funny way of revealing how we approach life. You might thrive on spontaneity. Throwing together a feast days before with whatever inspires you. Or perhaps you find peace in planning every detail weeks in advance.
I’m somewhere in the middle. Left to my own devices, I’d probably wing it. But I’ve learned that a little bit of planning—not rigid, just enough—means I actually get to enjoy the day instead of spending it stressed in the kitchen.
To assist you, I’ve created three complete vegan Christmas menus (with downloadable shopping lists). Each menu is designed to cater to different situations.
Maybe you’re welcoming skeptics who resonate with classics. Maybe someone just texted “I’m gluten-free, is that okay?” Or maybe you want to keep things cozy and festive without the formality.
You have options to mix and match for your guests.
Oh, and as this time of the year is all about warmth and celebration, I’ve added some drink and sweet treat options at the end of this guide. It wouldn’t feel like Christmas without them.

1. The “Wait, This Is Vegan?” Menu
“The one that surprises everyone”
This is the menu that makes people pause mid-bite. The Bundt Phyllo is golden, flaky, and dramatic—the kind of centrepiece that earns its place at the table. The Black Forest Trifle is pure indulgence.
Will it convert die-hard meat lovers? That’s not the goal. But when someone says, “wait, this is vegan?”—that’s the moment this menu is built for.
TIP: The trifle can be assembled the day before—it actually tastes better after the flavors have time to meld overnight in the fridge.

2. The Gluten-Free Vegan Christmas Menu
“When everyone’s welcome at the table”
Someone’s gluten-free. Someone else might be watching what they eat. And you want everyone to feel included without making it a thing.
This menu is naturally gluten-free, bright, and satisfying. Stuffed peppers bursting with color, carrots with punchy chimichurri, and a tiramisu that nobody will believe is both vegan and gluten-free.

3. The Classic Vegan Christmas Menu
“When you want Christmas to feel like Christmas”
This is the menu that feels like Christmas lunch or dinner. A sharing starter, a glazed centerpiece, creamy potatoes, fresh salad, nostalgic dessert. It’s the meal people picture when they think of the holidays.
The lentil loaf takes center stage like a traditional roast, the potato gratin is pure indulgence, and banana pudding brings everyone back to the table for seconds.

The Finishing Touches
Mulled wine is warming on the stove when guests walk in. Hot chocolate by the fire, cookies within reach. A tray of truffles is passed around while someone puts on music. An espresso martini that says the evening isn’t over yet. These are the touches that help create nostalgic memories.
Christmas snacks: You don’t need to make everything from scratch. Bowls of salted nuts, marinated olives, nice crackers, maybe some crisps—these are the things that fill the spaces between moments. No recipe required.
Welcome Drinks
For when guests walk through the door
By the Fire
For the slow, cozy hours
After Dinner
For the grown-up wind-down
Make It Your Own
These menus are starting points, not strict rules. Mix and match dishes, swap based on what you have available, or adjust to your guests’ preferences.
The goal is to create a celebration that feels right for your table, your people, and your situation.
What matters most isn’t following a perfect menu—it’s the people gathered around your Heartful Table and the memories you’re creating together.
I’d love to know which menu resonates with you. Comment below and tell me which one you’re considering—or if you’re mixing and matching to create your own version.
